Interview with Loren M. Smith, CEO of Blue Valley Capital

Loren M. Smith

When we first met Loren M. Smith, he had a website that was in need of an overhaul and was interested in marketing his website to the search engines.  We began our journey by making some minor adjustments to his existing website, but within a month or so we began a complete redesign.  Our design team focused on the three main components of Loren’s success: his prior results, his experience and his process.  We developed three quick and easy gateways to these important pages on Loren’s website.

After our programming was complete, we began the process of optimizing his website and building momentum and popularity on the search engines.  Within about 6 months, Loren’s website is listed on the first page (and in some cases first overall) for most of his relevant search terms.

Take a look at Loren’s website at www.bluevalleycapital.com.

What is your favorite aspect of your website?

What I like most about my WEB page is the testimonials tab.  When someone goes to your WEB page, they’re interested in learning as much as they can, in the least amount of time, and my testimonials tab enables them to do this.    By clicking this tab they get a snapshot of who I am through the eyes of those who I’ve arranged transactions for recently, as well as those who knew me at other stages of my career.

Describe your company/business:

My company, Blue Valley Capital, tries to do one thing well; get the highest sale price possible for owners of Mid-Market Manufacturing Companies.  Having sold my own business, I understand that post closing sellers must see their employees, customers, and vendors treated with no less respect than when they owned the business.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

Growing up in Cleveland Ohio, I graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and Northeastern University in Boston, MA.  My wife and I split our time between New Orleans, with our 3 grandchildren, and Kansas, where my wife grew up.  Currently, as CEO of Blue Valley Capital, I enjoy arranging sale transactions for CEO’s of Manufacturing companies.  Early in my career I worked for Texas Instruments, where I was fortunate to be given substantial responsibility at a very young age.  For over 20 yrs. I was CEO and principal shareholder of a manufacturer of Electrical Wire Harness Assemblies, achieving growth from start up to $85M revenue.

What is the first website you visit every day?
